Vision
Jesus used the biblical image of a tree to teach about the Kingdom,
that God is growing a majestic family tree Luke 13:18,19. We will
share in God's mission when we are:
Deeply Rooted
We aim to deepen the level of our spiritual maturity, through prayer,
reflection on the Word of God and through passionately worshipping
together. Being spiritually dynamic without being religious, expressing
our faith creatively and exploring its relevance for everyday life.
We expect to be changed through our relationship with Jesus.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he
meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of
water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not
wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:2,3
Firmly Planted
We recognize the value of choosing to be part of a local church,
patiently developing in our relationships with each other. We are
informal, warm, and accepting seeking to nurture a healthy Christian
community. Many people are actively involved in the life of the
church making a positive contribution. We value children and young
people, recognising their importance and potential as world changers
and therefore choose to invest in them. We have a leadership who
are trustworthy, committed and honest whose desire is to support
and empower.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow
like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they
will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit
in old age, they will stay fresh and green, Ps 92:12-14
Branching Out
We are seeking to serve our community in very practical ways and
partner with others who want to make it a better place to live in.
We want to demonstrate the love and generosity of God in our service
to others. We desire to help people discover their giftings and
express them effectively. We aim to make a global impact especially
where there is poverty and injustice. We are concerned for God's
creation and seek to encourage an appreciation of its delicate balance.
Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide,
do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For
you will spread out to the right and to the left; Isaiah 54:2
Bearing Fruit
We desire to reflect the character of Jesus in all that we do, by
being genuine, honest and reliable. We try to communicate the message
about Jesus in a contemporary and understandable way. We plan to
be modern and professional, aiming for excellence and quality without
being perfectionist. We expect to welcome new people into God's
family whatever their background recognizing that we are ordinary
people whose lives have been changed. We believe that prayer makes
a difference and expect God to do amazing things as we ask in faith
and humility, relying on the Spirit in all that we do. We pray for
the nations and help send people out to share their faith globally.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go
and bear fruit-fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you
whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.
John 15: 16,17
