Thursday – 6.30 – 7.30pm
Street Football was established in partnership with Aberdeen YMCA over five years ago as a pioneering youth project for local young people.
Street football runs every Thursday night during the school term, 6:30pm – 7:30pm at Sheddocksley Baptist Church and is open to any young person aged 10-16. The aim of Street football is to provide a safe space for young people, providing opportunities to build positive relationships, learn new football skills, grow in confidence and provide a framework for young people to access other youth-based programmes that Sheddocksley Baptist Church provides.
Friday – 7 – 9pm
Our Youth Cafe runs on a Friday night from from 7-9pm and is open to any young person aged 11-18 years old. The project was established in response to the need identified by the Street Football project, which was to provide a safe space for young people in the local community to gather and develop friendships and a sense of belonging.
The Youth Cafe provides a relaxed environment for young people to hang out with their friends on a Friday night, there is great food, Pool Table, Table Tennis, Wii, Nail Bar, Photo booth and much more. The cafe is supported by trained youth worker staff and volunteers and aims to provide opportunity for young people to develop their skills and grow in confidence.
