Jesus used the image of a tree to illustrate that God is developing a Kingdom of love and peace. Luke 13:18,19.
So our aim as a church is to Grow a Healthy Christian Community as we are:
We aim to deepen the level of our spiritual maturity, through prayer, reflection on the Word of God and through passionate worship. Being spiritually dynamic without being religious, expressing our faith creatively and exploring its relevance for everyday life.
But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:2,3
We recognize the value of seeking to nurture a healthy Christian community patiently developing in our relationships with each other. We are relaxed and friendly with many people actively involved in the life of the church. We value children and young people, and their potential as world changers so choose to invest in them.
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, Psalm 92:12-14
We are seeking to serve our local community in very practical ways and partner with others who want to make it a better place to live in. We want to demonstrate the love and generosity of God in our service to others. We aim to make a global impact especially where there is poverty and injustice. We are concerned for God’s creation and seek to encourage an appreciation of its delicate balance.
Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; Isaiah 54:2-3
We desire to reflect the character of Jesus, by being genuine, honest and reliable. We try to communicate the message about Jesus in a contemporary and understandable way. We like to welcome new people into God’s family whatever their background. We pray for the nations and help send people out to share their faith globally.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other. John 15: 16,17
